In this role, you will be a key player in AstraZeneca’s global R&D Procurement team, leading category strategies, supplier relationships, and procurement initiatives that drive business value and support the company’s sustainability goals.
About the Role
As an Associate Director R&D Procurement, you will:
✔️ Develop long-term strategic plans for assigned R&D procurement categories.
✔️ Manage stakeholder and supplier relationships to ensure strategies align with business needs.
✔️ Lead major procurement initiatives that deliver value, innovation, and sustainability impact.
✔️ Conduct complex contractual and commercial negotiations with key suppliers.
✔️ Work closely with Global Procurement Services (GPS) to ensure alignment in strategy and execution.
✔️ Implement data-driven procurement strategies to improve efficiency and decision-making.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in category management and business partnering in an R&D or pharmaceutical environment. You should be comfortable in ambiguous situations, managing risks, and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
Must-have qualifications:
✅ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
✅ Significant procurement experience, ideally in an R&D or pharmaceutical environment.
✅ Proven category management experience.
✅ Expertise in project management and change management.
✅ A strong understanding of the research environment and R&D procurement needs.
✅ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships.
✅ Comfort working in dynamic and uncertain situations, driving strategic outcomes.
