WeQuel is currently looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer for a long-term consulting assignment with an international technology company within the energy and infrastructure sector. The assignment is based in Västerås, Sweden, with the possibility to work partly remotely.

This role is suited for an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys working with complex engineering environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the development of advanced energy infrastructure solutions.

About the Role

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of relay and control concepts for sub-transmission systems, working closely with both customers and the internal project team.

You will be responsible for electrical design within substation projects and collaborate with global engineering and project execution teams to ensure high-quality technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop relay and control concepts for sub-transmission systems together with customers and the project team

• Responsible for the electrical design of bay-level cubicles within substations

• Lead and coordinate complex electrical engineering activities within projects

• Collaborate closely with project execution teams and operating centers

• Provide technical expertise in solving complex engineering challenges

• Ensure engineering deliverables meet project plans, timelines, and budget requirements

• Contribute to continuous improvements in engineering processes and customer satisfaction

Your Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field

• Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience within electrical engineering or power systems

• Experience with electrical design in transmission or distribution projects

• Strong experience working with substation or power system environments

• Advanced experience with the CAD tool EPC ElMaster

• Structured and proactive way of working with strong technical ownership

• Professional working proficiency in English

• Experience working in large infrastructure or energy projects

• Swedish language skills

• Experience collaborating with international engineering teams
