About the Assignment

This is a six-month consultant assignment with AstraZeneca’s External Quality (EQ) team, responsible for quality-related matters in outsourced GMP activities across AstraZeneca’s global operations. You will join a dynamic and collaborative environment where continuous improvement is at the core. As a GST Quality Lead, you will provide quality leadership for assigned Brand Supply Chains, supporting both Global Supply Chain (GSC) and External Sourcing & Manufacturing (ESM) teams.

You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure end-to-end quality oversight, risk mitigation, and compliance across all outsourced supply chains. This includes leading Issue Management Teams (IMTs), evaluating supply chain design from a quality perspective, and being the key quality contact for customer organisations and alliance partners.

What You’ll Do

In this role you will primarily act as the key Quality Contact for the Quality function in the customer organisation (AZ MC, 3PS Customer, Alliance Partner), ensuring that communication and issue resolution is handled in accordance with an established Quality Assurance Agreement/Quality Framework. As a Quality leader, you will also provide end to end oversight for a portfolio of product supply chains.

What We’re Looking For

✔️ Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience
✔️ Extensive experience in pharmaceutical operations or pharmaceutical Quality Assurance
✔️ Strong knowledge of cGMPs, Quality Systems, and industry standards (Pharmacopeia, ISO, etc.)
✔️ Leadership and interpersonal skills to serve as the Quality leader for Brand Supply Chains
✔️ Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration and managing significant improvement initiatives (e.g. project management skills)
✔️ Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal

Desirable Skills

✨ Experience in PCO organisations or Lean/Six Sigma training
✨ Multi-site/multi-functional experience
✨ Master’s degree in QA, Regulatory Affairs, or other advanced scientific discipline
✨ Experience in Quality Assurance or a combination of Quality and Technical
