We are currently looking for a curious and engaged Research Scientist – NGS based Proteomics to join our consultant team for a 12-month full-time assignment at AstraZeneca’s R&D site in Gothenburg.

🔬 About the Role
This is a hands-on laboratory role within the NGS/Transcriptomics team at AstraZeneca. The team focuses on generating high-quality omics data to support a range of drug development projects. Your work will contribute directly to the understanding of disease biology and treatment responses.

🧪 Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carry out molecular biology and omics-based experiments with precision.
• Contribute to planning and execution of scientific projects.
• Implement and adapt novel methods developed by the team.
• Ensure equipment and laboratory processes are well maintained and efficient.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and project teams.
• Follow AstraZeneca’s Safety, Health, and Environmental policies.
• Participate in the development and optimization of multiomic workflows.
• Support a collaborative, innovative, and quality-driven research environment.

✅ Requirements

Must-Haves:

• B.Sc. degree or higher in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of molecular biology techniques.
• Hands-on experience with at least one of: NGS-based proteomics, RNA-seq, DNA-seq, genotyping methodologies, or mass spectrometry.
• Familiarity with all stages of the research process, including sample prep, data generation, and analysis.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Research experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or academic settings.
• Experience with high-throughput workflows and laboratory automation.
• Track record of scientific publications or conference presentations.
• Proficiency in statistics, quantitative data analysis, and LIMS systems.
