We are now looking for a driven and detail-oriented Senior Research Scientist – NGS based Proteomics Specialist to join our team as a consultant for a full-time assignment at AstraZeneca in Gothenburg.

🔬 About the Role
This is a lab-based role within the NGS/Transcriptomics team, which plays a critical role in delivering high-quality omics data to support drug development across various diseases and modalities. You'll work hands-on in the lab with a strong focus on automation and innovation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient workflows and data generation.

🧪 Key Responsibilities

• Generate transcriptomics/proteomics data using NGS and automation technologies.
• Plan, develop and execute new omics-based methods and automated lab solutions.
• Maintain and improve laboratory automation workflows and equipment.
• Collaborate with scientists across disciplines and support project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with safety and corporate responsibility guidelines.
• Simplify and scale multiomic research through validated automation protocols.

✅ Requirements

Must-Haves:

• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Hands-on lab experience with at least one of: NGS-based proteomics, RNA-seq, DNA-seq, mass spectrometry, or genotyping.
• Solid understanding of molecular biology techniques.
• Experience in lab automation and integration.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience in regulated environments (GLP, ISO15189).
• Background in Pharma/Biotech or academic research.
• Familiarity with LIMS, data analysis, and scientific publications.
• Expertise in high-throughput screening and data mining.
