Senior Embedded Software Engineer / Embedded Software Integration Engineer – Consulting Assignment in Advanced Technology Development

We at WeQuel are currently looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for a consulting assignment with one of our clients in Gothenburg. About the role:

You will be part of a highly skilled engineering organization responsible for developing and integrating embedded software solutions for advanced products and systems. You will work across the full development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and software design to implementation, testing, verification, and release.

The position requires both strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities, as you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive technical initiatives, and contribute to strategic technology development. You will play an important role in ensuring software quality, system readiness, and the successful integration of complex software components.

This role offers the opportunity to influence technical roadmaps, mentor engineers, and contribute to the continuous evolution of engineering practices and software platforms.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Perform requirements analysis, software design, implementation, testing, and verification of embedded software solutions

• Lead software integration activities and ensure successful delivery across multiple teams

• Configure and manage embedded software platforms and integration environments

• Secure software quality, robustness, and readiness before release

• Drive technical investigations and contribute to architecture and technology decisions

• Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders throughout the development process

• Support continuous integration and deployment processes

• Develop and maintain technical documentation and engineering guidelines

• Contribute to technical roadmaps and future product development strategies

• Mentor colleagues and support competence development within the organization

We are looking for someone who:

• Has 8–12+ years of experience within Embedded Software Engineering or Embedded Software Integration

• Has extensive experience working with embedded software development in complex technical environments

• Has strong knowledge of software architecture, integration, testing, and verification

• Has experience working with continuous integration, build environments, and software deployment processes

• Is comfortable leading technical activities and coordinating deliveries across multiple teams

• Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Is a collaborative team player with excellent communication abilities

• Is fluent in English, both written and spoken. Swedish is a plus

Meritorious Experience:

• Experience within safety-critical, high-performance, or large-scale embedded systems

• Experience with system engineering and technical leadership responsibilities

• Knowledge of software platforms, diagnostics, control systems, mechatronics, or related technical domains

• Experience influencing technical strategy, roadmaps, and organizational development

• Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across teams
