About the role
We are looking for a Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer to take on the role of Design Lead for Auxiliary Power Systems within large-scale industrial and energy projects.
The role covers the overall technical responsibility for auxiliary power systems in complex installations and includes leading engineering teams, coordinating interfaces, and ensuring high-quality, cost-efficient and timely deliveries. You will work in an international environment with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Scope of work
Electrical and electronic engineering activities including planning, design, development, testing and coordination of auxiliary power systems. The role includes both hands-on engineering and technical leadership, with responsibility for guiding other engineers and acting as a technical authority.
You will:
Lead, plan and coordinate complex electrical engineering activities
Take overall responsibility for auxiliary power systems deliveries in projects
Perform and review system design, selectivity studies and equipment specifications
Work with systems including:
Auxiliary transformers
Medium & low voltage switchgear
Diesel generator systems
Batteries and UPS systems
Power cables and cable transit systems
Coordinate engineering work with other departments and external suppliers
Act as technical advisor to management and customers
Support installation, commissioning and site supervision when required
Proactively contribute to improvements in engineering processes, quality and customer satisfaction
Role as Design Lead
As Design Lead, you will:
Lead a team of electrical designers within projects
Coordinate task distribution, priorities and technical decisions
Ensure deliveries meet requirements in terms of quality, cost and schedule
Manage interfaces with other engineering disciplines and project functions
Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing engineering environment
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
orAnother technical degree combined with 15+ years of relevant experience
Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical engineering roles, including leadership or coordination responsibilities
Strong experience in auxiliary power systems, selectivity studies and/or LV/MV electrical systems
(or equivalent experience from installation and commissioning transitioning into design)Experience leading or coordinating engineering work
Knowledge of CAD tools for electrical schematics and layouts is considered a merit
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining an overall technical perspective
Willingness to travel occasionally for customer, supplier and site activities
Fluent in spoken and written English
