We are now looking for a Scientist – Early Product Development and Manufacturing to join us for an exciting consulting assignment at AstraZeneca in Gothenburg. This is a full-time position running from April 14, 2025, to April 13, 2026.

The Role

As a Scientist in Early Product Development and Manufacturing, you will be part of the Early Product Development and Manufacture (EPDM) unit at AstraZeneca, contributing to the development and delivery of investigational medicinal products for clinical trials worldwide. Your responsibilities include:

• Working hands-on with practical manufacturing processes in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment.
• Ensuring timely production of various drug products in alignment with EPDM plans.
• Monitoring and securing regulatory compliance through IT systems.
• Supporting documentation activities, such as authoring batch records, SOPs, deviation investigations, and change control processes.
• Developing strong expertise in process technologies and contributing to scale-up and clinical manufacturing.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance flexibility, productivity, and lead times.
• Ensuring that Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards and GMP compliance are upheld.

Who You Are

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

Essential Requirements:

• MSc/BSc in Pharmacy, Engineering, or extensive GMP-manufacturing experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and planning skills.
• A sense of responsibility, teamwork, and a delivery-focused mindset.
• Strong verbal and documentation skills in English.
• Experience in pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, or supply chain organizations.
• Eager to learn and operate complex manufacturing equipment.

Desirable Requirements:

• Knowledge of GMP regulations and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
• Experience in working with Continuous Manufacturing technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
